For the rest of the summer, Jim and I will be buiding the DIS radio program around phone calls, emails, text messages, and forum questions.
This is partially because we know this summer is going to be so crazy and that will not have the time to dig into & prepare a new study. We'll do this in September.
Also, from the beginning, we've wanted phones calls, etc., to be a part of the progrtam, but we've reeived very few. Either no one is listening, or, well, we're trying to find out wy no one is calling in.
SOOOOOO.....
we need your questions!!!

Hello Marcus. Since you want questions, I have one that affects me personally. I am a Protestant, divorced and remarried. My first wife committed adultery, left me and married another man. That left me alone, without a ministry, I was a pastor in an denomination that still doesn't permit divorced people to pastor a church. I eventually remarried. I believe my first wife had been baptized as a child in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I would have difficulty coming into the RC and getting an annulment. My present wife has no interest in the RCC and resents the whole idea of the annulment process.
My question involves a current teaching by David Instone-Brewer who, while strong on marriage also believes that there are grounds for divorce and remarriage based upon the teachings of Christ. He says apparently there were divisions between the various Jewish schools on what constituted grounds for divorce. In his blog on http://www.divorceremarriage.com/, he outlines the reasons which are too long to include in this too long lead up to my question.
My question is, is there anyone in the Catholic church answering Brewer as to whether or not his conclusions are correct? He seems to make sense, but my sense is that more study needs to be done.
Please comment. (OK you wanted questions...tackle this one if you dare.)
Thanks
Rich

| I really appreciate the Deep in Scripture program. I purchase the CDs rather than listen on the radio because I find it more convenient. But be assured we listen to you and Jim one way or the other. The study of Ephesians has changed my life.
