I’ve been quite busy today, as well as suffering a cold, but I can’t go to bed until I answer your question.

“Mañana” has two related meanings. The one you didn’t run across is “tomorrow,” as “[in the] morning” or “[come the] morning.” You will find that this definition fits the context much better. My meaning was that I can’t just put things off until tomorrow, because for the procrastinator, tomorrow never comes. I have to see them through now, no matter what the cost, if they involve charity, because there are no excuses for a lack of charity.

I made bold to use the Spanish word because, like several others (nada, jalapeño, grande, etc.), it has been somewhat assimilated into English parlance in many parts of the country. But as your experience shows, it isn’t universal. I will stick to English from now on. There’s that charity thing again.

David,

Please don't ever stay up to answer me--who knows when I will get back to check and besides isn't patience a virtue?  :D

Yes, this translation makes more sense although I don't know if the paragraph really applies at this point. I think I am still stuck on integration....

As far as language, please do not feel the need to limit yourself to English. I find that in many ways I need to be pushed to step outside my comfort zone and the challenge is welcome.  I initially typed a "grumble--see what I mean" type response and upon thinking it through realized that I needed to go back and look it up. Now I have one word in my Spanish vocabulary that I will not forget and an even more valuable lesson on charity.

Bold is not such a bad approach for some of us.

I hope you are feeling better or at least getting some rest.

Kate

:D I’m still sick, but your humor is coming through loud and clear. I am beginning to move into the cough stage, though, so I expect to be better in a day or two.

I have had no rest at all, however. I’m getting ready to go on vacation next week, and my assistant is still a bit green. I went home a few minutes early today (orders from the manager, who saw that I was weary), and I had hardly arrived when the phone rang. It was my assistant wanting to know how to handle something. You can imagine what my vacation is going to be like.

I didn’t know that integration was something one could be stuck on. But it is what is supposed to follow analysis, so it should be good for you.

I find that in many ways I need to be pushed to step outside my comfort zone and the challenge is welcome.
This is what I saw in you at the beginning, and why I was a bit heavy handed with you. Once you are pushed, you make the effort and get the job done. I’m sure parents with teenagers would like to know your secret.

Muslims in our gov't can only mean trouble, no matter if it's a good or bad muslim.  Because they will attract more muslims and not necessarily ones that eschew terrorism - some will exploit their muslim brother in power and try to force their demands upon the rest of us.  No, this does not bode well.
