I'm sharing this on the run, but a lot of you might find this book review interesting, especially coming from one of Christianity Today's publications.

The Reformation's Over guys, we won, and it's only a matter of time before the rest of Christianity comes along ...

Great report! I have been a “Ratzinger” fan and apologist for years. The reason is that I read his works and not the media misrepresentations of the Pope’s so called Rottweiler.

His work “Introduction to Christianity” is the best and most understandable book I have ever read. It is rock solid, basic Christianity explained by a true believer. Being able to read it in the language it was written in is the bigger boost. B16’s use of the German idiom is nothing less than phenomenal but unfortunatly looses some of its razor sharp poignancy in translation.

I pray that his trip to the US will be a blessing to all.

Wie gehts Robert!

My German's very rusty, almost as rusty as a Trabby's worn chassis, so that's about it.

Glad you were able to get something out my FYI! By the way, I lived in Wiesbaden for from 11/62 - 8/65, where do you call home?

Guten Tag und Wiedersehn, Bruder! (Well, I managed to get up to a little more speed -- up to a 49 Beetle, which my dad bought for a second car.

Google earth: 78576 Emmingen Engener Strasse 4, is my house. have a look.

Robert,

Thanks for your reply. But I'll have to stick to the English. I don't have google earth set up yet, but when I do, I'll punch it in. Perhaps if you gave me the name of the town or city you're living in and I'll type in the rest of the address.

The less I put on this machine, the better.

Thanks anyway. From what I gathered about the Trabants, the East Germans didn't use metal chassis on those things? :roflmho:

Hi Steve,

I was just showing off! I'll stick to englisch in the future.

FYO the Trabbi cannot rust, because theay are made of resin saturated paper! The german translation of the Trabbi's nickname is the "Band Aid Bomber".

After the Wall came down Germany was overrun with them and they became the brunt of many jokes.

A Trabbi went off the road and landed in a cow pasture, right next to a Cow Chip. the Cow Chip asked the Trabbi what it was. The Trabbi answerd "a Car" of course!

The Cow Chip laughed as hard as he could and said: "if you're a car, than I'm a Peperoni Pizza!":)

BTW: now the East Germans drive BMWs and Mercedes and the West Germans Trabbi:(

The bold type of my last post is the whole address:dude:

78576 is the Postal (Zip)code, Emmingen the town, and Engenerstrasse 4 the Street. But don't tell anyone, we're on the Internet;)
