How would you go about that? I am interested in doing something like this. But I'm a bit afraid of "being good enough". Plus I'm not even sure there would be an interest/need for something like this locally.
Has anyone ever done anything like this kind of class or discussion group? Surely there are approved curriculum, etc., from the diocese. Right? Then you just sort of follow the outline, I'm guessing.
Thoughts?

Talk to the pastor, assistant pastor, or pastoral associate, or life coordinator, in that order.
In our diocese, each parish is supposed to have a family life coordinator, whose job is to attend pastoral council meetings and consider family issues in every issue. For example, a family life coordinator might suggest that ministry schedules be better coordinated so that families can attend mass together. This coordinator would be the right person to bring NFP classes to the pastoral council, if that is how your pastor wishes it to be handled.
However, I would suggest that approaching the pastor would be the simplest way to achieve the desired goal. If he doesn't wish to handle it himself, let him be the one to tell you who to talk to.

Ali -
I've done this for several years with our parish teens, and in my experience most Pastors would welcome this, but they're busy and are more receptive to a proposal if you are well prepared, if you can tell them briefly how you will conduct the program, and show them the materials you will be using, (- content & cost ).
In our parish we're also fortunate to have a certified Couple To Couple League teaching couple who conduct NFP sessions for Marriage Prep. If you have a couple within driving distance of you, that would also be an advantage as a reference for both you and your Pastor.

As you start out, to build confidence and experience, I would recommend using one of the Christopher West DVD's which would be appropriate for a group, plus take the pressure off of you in the beginning to conduct everything.
I've also found that in the beginning, more of an informal group setting provides good experience and helps build your confidence.
We also have used the shorter Christopher West audio CD sets within a Faith-Study / Bible-Study setting, followed by discussion. In this situation we set the tone by stating at the outset that the focus will be to find out what the Church teaches about T.O.B. and why.
So, I would recommend that you;
1. Decide who your target audience will be and what setting ( students, adults, Bible /Faith Study, Parish Book Club, Youth Group, ...).
2. Decide how much of the presentation you're ready to handle.
3. Decide what materials you'll be using.
4. Make an outline of your presentation.
