I realize that this post could go under any of several topics, but this seemed the best. Like I said in the description, I understand the Church's teaching on priesthood. I was wondering what the position would be on, say, a woman teaching a theology class?

Under Canon Law, a woman may fill any role not requiring ordination. The previous chancellor of our diocese was a woman (she recently retired after serving more than ten years in that position). The chancellor is responsible for the day to day operations of the diocese.

Carenanightchild -
In addition to what rick wrote, here's a good example of an orthodox female seminary professor - Dr. Theresa Farnan teaches Thomistic philosophy -

Thanks. That's a big step up from my fundamentalist church. A woman is not allowed to teach theology to a man or to hold a position of spiritual authority in the church - deacon, trustee, etc. Kind of frustrating.
