I am new here so Hi to all of you!

I am so excited because I just wrote a "letter to the editor" for a Protestant Missions mailing (I won't say the name of it now, but if my letter is printed I will tell the name) It says its distribution is 85,000, and is written by people I highly respect.

Anyway, the article that I responded to was called "Losing Faith" and addressed the growing problem of evangelicals leaving the faith.

My letter was a personal testimony of my loss of faith in the church as a protestant and how I found faith in the Catholic Church.  I also pondered that perhaps some of the evangelicals who appear to be losing faith in God are actually losing faith in the church just as I did.

The editor wrote me back and said he wanted to print it as a letter to the editor.

Please pray for this letter, as it is basically a plea for protestants to consider the Catholic church.  Were it to be printed, perhaps 85,000 people (mostly missions-minded evangelicals) would read it.  Pray that if it is printed, then he would not edit out references to the Catholic Church.  Thank you!

How exciting!  God certainly leads us down marvelous paths that we couldn't imagine ahead of time.  Father, I pray that you would use Rosa's willingness to be Your voice to speak to many in the mission field. Amen.

Rosa! Welcome to the Forum!

They are getting a bit nervous these days, esp. in the Southern Baptist Convention and evangelicals are losing some of their best college bright lights and seminary graduates--and I'm not just referring to people we're already familiar through CHNI and EWTN, and Patrick Madrid--but people who are hitting their young adulthood and the stage where they had hoped would lead the evangelical wings to further glory for God.

They're nervous and for good reasons. I've had a discussion with a dear friend who'll really give me a good give and take session and tell me about all the people going his way. Maybe I just love him as an (elder) brother too much to break his heart by pointing out how few big name Catholic theologians head towards Geneva. What helps seal our long friendship is that we can both laugh at our religious stubborness at times. After all, I keep needling him... how long does it take your fellow Protestants to learn that square wheels don't roll and you've been trying for five centuries worth of Protestant revivals, counter rev ivals and counter-counter to past counter the previous counter albeit failed "reformations"? It never fails to get a good belly laugh out of him. One of these days he's going to wonder why all our instruction manuals are more and more appearing in Latin-only versions. (Psssst, to confuse the devil out of Satan and keep every one of  us on the "same page.") Eventually we'll get to page two. But the Church is much more interested in making sure we get the basics down pat these days. No more post-Vat II post pre-Vatican II days. Hmmm, now where did THAT come from!)

But we've got to pray for them, and I don't mean that tongue-in cheek style. Because let's face it, all of us in this forum have had those awful wide awake 3 a.m. sessions and we know well what they're going through. And, wow, some of my "3 a.m.sessions" have occured at 3 pm, too!

But it's best we be overjoyed that God reached that editor's heart and soul and allowed your letter to be published because he can see something's not exactly right within his denomination. And, we can say without being too smugly about it, something seems to be working brightly in our favor.

Congratulations for what you accomplished and from one Catholic to a soon to be another: Thank you for inspiring act :bowing:.

Steven :waving:
