Just started the process in mid-Dec.
My tribunal office is pretty far away and involves a ferry ride to Vancouver so I didn't have to come in for an initial interview. They said that they would send me the papers to fill out and I could send them back with all of the copies of i.d. they needed. I don't know where my ex-husband even lives so it looks like he's not going to be contacted and we are going to go ahead without him. (this obviously is all very new to me and I don't know the terms or anything)
I'm still waiting to receive the papers however. I'm going to call them Monday.
Now I was hoping that I could join the church at Easter, but reading these posts has shown me how ridiculously optimistic- or is the word naive- I've been. Is there any chance do you think?

The fastest I've seen for a full Tribunal investigation is eight months. 18 months is more common in my diocese. In some jurisdictions, three years is not uncommon.
However, in the case of a Catholic married outside the Church, I have seen things proceed quickly, but that is not the norm. The Church has never been accused of acting hastily.
The best thing you can do to speed the process is cooperate fully. Pick up papers when possible, fill them out completely and return them as soon as possible. Make sure your witnesses complete their statements as quickly as possible and mail them in (registered, certified, or the equivalent so you can know when it was delivered). Call them often to see if you can provide anything else. Don’t try to hurry them (you don't want a secretary putting your folder on the bottom of a stack because you've aggravated her) just bend over backwards to be nice and friendly and cooperative. Be persistent, but nicely persistent.
