This is my first post on this forum. I know there are a lot more important topics that I could be inquiring about, but this is something I noticed while looking through my Dictionary of Saints, published by OSV.
It was an entry in an appendix of patron saints for psychics, St. Agabus. I thought that the Catholic church condemned the occult. I find the communion of the saints a very comforting and beautiful part of Catholic doctrine but a patron of psychics seems a little strange to me.

Yes, Cody, St. Agabus is listed on the internet (in a secular article) as being a patron saint for “fortune tellers” or “psychics” and prophets, himself being a prophet. Acts 11:27–28 describes him in this manner: “Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world; and this took place in the days of Claudius.”
You are correct in your understanding that the Catholic Church condemns belief in and practice of the occult. But the patron saint listings are not official teachings of the Church, so there may well be a few oddball things in them like this one that don’t meet its doctrinal standards. Funny that Our Sunday Visitor, which is known for its orthodoxy, would include such a note; at least it is in an appendix and not the main text.

| I'm sorry; I can't type. I'm going to have to start using the spellcheck.
