This is an awakening call. Even more so for us in Richmond VA as this week we learned that workers at Catholic Charities actually helped a young girl get an abortion. This has brought great shame upon us. For some reason the bishop was unable to stop it although informed of it the night before. Four employees of Catholic Charities were fired as a result. No mention of any excommunications in the newspaper articles.

The excommunications are automatic and private. There is no need for a public pronouncement.
