In the adoration chapel I found a book that someone left in there. It is simply a book with scripture passages arranged by certain topics. It could be quickly helpful to many. You just look up the topic be it anxiety, patience, lazyiness love etc and it lists some verses. Nothing problematic.
But on the last page is sort of a typical protestant altar call type gospel presentation is which they tell you in three easy steps/ realizations on how to become a Christian. This of course to a Catholic is obersimplfying things leaving out the need for, baptism, church sacramental living, faith with works...etc.
What should I do? I asked the one of the ladies who oversees the chapel and she told me to pray about it and decide what I thought was best. I can either:
remove the book
1 tear out that particular page
2 put it back as is and not worry as most people who go there are not in danger of leaving the Catholic Church because of that.
3 Remove the book
4 put in a brief explanation in the side of the margin explaining that these three steps are essential but do not accurately sum up the whole of conversion and the Christian life, though they could make a good start.
Any advice? I am leaning towards just tearing out the page. It is otherwise nothing but bible verses and arranged in a way that could help people, so I do not see a need to remove it, unless afraid peole will buy more. And I do not know for sure someone did not leave it by accident and is not looking for it (I have it right now) or would not want it back later, but I assume they left it intentionally or someone did.

Perhaps it belongs to a former Protestant and was a much-treasured gift from a now deceased parent. I can't imagine ripping out a page without even giving the owner a chance to discover that it is missing, realize where it was left, and make an effort to get it back.
As you say, any person coming to Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament is a pretty solid Catholic who is highly unlikely to be troubled by that one page at the end.

Brian, I am inclined to suggest that you simply return the book to the chapel. As you intimate, and Becky reiterates, the people who come there are apt to be solid Catholics who will have no trouble with a little Evangelical blurb in the back of an otherwise good book. If you are still bothered in conscience, perhaps you could donate a book of your own as well, giving to those who come to pray something that you have found of value in your own life.

| Brian, you could turn the book into the lost and found area of the parish office. That way if someone is looking for it they can find it, but it won't be just sitting out.
