St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, a vibrant parish of 5700+ families in Cary, NC, is seeking an energetic, oganized person who will act as the Director of Elementary Faith Development beginning as early as Spring 2008. Cary is located near the renown Research Triangle Park and the major university cities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with at least three years experience as a parish religious education director. Must have a bachelor's degree in Education or Pastoral Studies and a Master's Degree preferred or equivalent. Must have a working knowledge of basic computer applications. Duties will entail supervision of faith development programs for nearly 1500 children from age 4 - grade 6 including parent and child preparation for the Sacraments of Reconcilliation and Eucharist. The successful candidate will also be responsible for working with a three person staff, supervising alternate forms of religious education including intergenerational catechesis, Catechesis of the Good Sheperd, and Latino Catechesis, and planning training and support for a volunteer staff of nearly 225 catechist. Some knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.
Compensaion will include a salary, commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package.
