News has reached me this evening that a long-time friend has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. President and CEO of the local chamber of commerce, Angela is listed in serious but stable condition in a nearby city. I ask your prayers for this courageous lady who has given a lifetime of service, both publicly and privately, to her fellow man. I ask you also to pray for her adopted children, who will have to do without her for several months while she recuperates.

Oh, Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.
Oh, Blood and Water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us I trust in You.
Oh, Blood and Water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as found of mercy for us I trust in You.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

for the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Oh, God in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible look kindly on us, and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we may not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Jesus I trust in Thee.
Amen.

I have just returned from seeing Angela. She took a wallop, but is going to be OK; it will just take some time for everything to heal.

We talked for about 15 minutes. She is lucid and responsive, although the pain killers are making her a bit dopey. She reached out and held my hand nearly the whole time I was there, and I could see her moving her other limbs, so it looks like everything is functional. She told me that, thanks to her safety helmet, she remained conscious the whole time, and she remembers everything. That is amazing.

She was also accompanied by several people from her workplace (some of them I recognized, although I had not met them all before), so she is not alone. Her children are safe with a friend. Thanks to all who have prayed for her and her family.

So glad you gave us an update on your friend. I've been wondering about her and her children and praying for them. No doubt it meant a great deal to her that you visited her.

It sounds as if she will be fully functional again. Bless her heart, I'm so glad; but it is hard to understand how she can have escaped serious head injury.

Children are amazingly resilient in these situations, especially if they can remain in school and have contact with friends. I continue to pray for them and for their mother.

As I said, it is amazing. But a good helmet, such as the one I know she wears, is good protection. She wears a full protective outfit when she’s biking — she’s retired military, and they know how to keep ’em alive — and I’m sure it saved her life. That and the fact that God wants her around a while longer.

I learned today that Angela has been released from the hospital. Further recuperation will take place at home, but I expect her to return to work soon. Again, thanks to all for your prayers.

This is wonderful news indeed. No doubt she and the children are eager to be together under one roof again. I will continue to pray for them as she regains her strength and resumes the responsibilities of work and mothering.
