Please Pray for my wife.  She found out today that she has breast cancer.  It was discovered VERY early which is indeed a blessing.  Pray that God will give her courage this Thursday as she undergoes a lumpectomy and that the results will be favorable.  We both appreciate all your prayers.  (Still praying for her to open her heart to the RCC also.):praying:

In Christ,

Rick S.

Rick, I'm sorry to hear that you and your wife face this frightening experience.
Both of you will be in my prayers.

May you receive grace to show her how much you love her this week and in the coming months.

God bless,
Becky

Although, praise the Lord, it only turned out to be a fluid filled cyst, this time last year my wife and I had a scare about potential breast cancer. I have known of a number of women who, having had breast cancer caught early, had complete cures and are now happy and healthy. I fervently pray for similar results for your wife!  May God bless and completely heal her and bless and watch over you both!  :praying:

You're in my prayers. Cancer treatments have made great strides in the last 10-15 years, so you both have a lot of reason to be hopeful that it can be taken care of.

May almighty God guide the hands of her surgeons and may He bring her to full health. May He keep her from every anxiety and prepare her for whatever is to come. Amen

Rick,

Praying here as well--for both the healing of her body and the softening of her heart to the RCC.  How did the procedure on Thursday go?

The procedure went well.  She is experiencing some pain which is to be expected, but she was able to attend church this morning.  We are to meet with the Dr. Monday morning for the pathology report.  We do appreciate all of your prayers:).

Please keep the prayers going:praying:.

God Bless,
Rick S.

Hello Prayer Warriors,
We went to the Dr's office Monday morning for her appointment to get the Pathology report.  There was apparently a scheduling mix up.  The pathology report was not in yet and the Dr. was in surgery.  She has been re-scheduled for Wednesday  afternoon.  She is  recovering well from the surgery but we are eager  to hear if they got it all.  Thank you all for your continued prayers.  I'll give an update when we know more.

God Bless,
Rick

Rick, I continue to remember you and your wife. How hard it is to wait for lab reports!

I was amazed to learn a few years ago that I had the right to a copy of lab/test reports as soon as they were ready (without having to wait for info from the doctor). In a hospital there is a Records Department. If you go there prior to having a test and ask for the Release Form (get your wife's signature, have yourself listed as a person to whom results can be released, return the form to the Records Department), then you can pop in that office (often the same day as the procedure) and ask for a copy of the report.

Be warned that you'll need a medical dictionary to discern whether the news is good or bad. When we were waiting to learn whether my husband had a malignancy, his primary physician drove to another state for a wedding. We ended up waiting a week when I could have taken the elevator to another floor of the hospital and gotten a copy of the report on my own.

Doctors do not broadcast this information to families or patients. Wish I had known about it much sooner.

Grace and peace,
Becky

Update:
The surgery went well and the Dr. thinks that they were able to remove all of it.  :)Due to the fact that they found a trace of INVASIVE cancer in the tissue, she will undergo yet another surgery on Thursday, July the 17th to remove a lymphnode.  This is precautionary just to make sure it has not spread.  This will probably be followed by radiation treatments.  She has been placed on leave with pay (Thank the Lord, we have good insurance!)  She is currently doing well and she is dealing with everything well.  We appreciate all your prayers.  Keep them going!
Also pray that during her free time, she will be led to investigate the RCC! :reading:

God Bless,
Rick

Well the surgery on the 17th went very well.  The lymphnode was found to be free of any cancer cells:roflmho:.  God is GOOD!  The surgeon says that he still recommends radiation treatment just to be 100% sure.  My wife is doing well, that is to say she is sore, but greatly encouraged.  We can't thank you enough for your prayers!!  She is aware of your prayers and is greatly appreciative.   I still hope that somehow she will want to learn about the RCC but so far, "not interested."  Keep praying!

God Bless,

Rick S

Rick, this is wonderful news indeed. I rejoice with you. You probably think I'm a broken record on this subject, but please be patient and think long-term regarding her interest in the Catholic Church. In our parish, a husband recently saw his wife join him in the Church after a wait of sixteen years.

We will continue to pray.

Becky

Rick,

Great news about the surgery!  Rest assured, being in a similar situation as you, that I will keep you and your wife in prayer.  And since my patience level is somewhere between minimal and non-existant, I will also pray that you don't have to wait anywhere near 16 years for your wife to see the beauty and truth of the RCC.

I recall a humorous bumper sticker that stated: "Lord, give me patients, but could you please hurry!?"  I would say that I fall into this category.

I really do appreciate your prayers.:)

I think you meant patience...but the other is funnier. :roflol:
Seriously,
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

I'll sing and pray the Old "One Hundredth" otherwise known as the Doxology. And give a few kudos to Mary's prayers too.
God bless and great news.
Rich
