Please keep my sister-in-law, Kay, in your prayers as she is in an addiction treatment center.  She has battled addiction for 30+ years and been in treatment centers before.  Please pray for her sincerity of heart to change and her submission to Jesus.

I am wondering if anyone knows of specific Rosary meditations for recovering addicts.  My brother is close to coming back to the Church and if I could send him specific Rosary meditations, he may even try praying the Rosary!

Thanks and God bless!

Lord of the Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other help but You.
Lord of the Powers, have mercy on Kay, deliver her from all addictions.
Grant renewal to her brother and may they have peace in their lives.

Thank you for your prayers.  I'm very sad to report that she checked out of rehab early and is back to square one.  Keep praying that she will turn to God before it's too late.  Her health is very bad as she has been abusing drugs and alcohol for over 30 years.

I will certainly pray for her.  As I have worked with women in the past who have suffered with addiction problems, I know how frustrating this can be.  We will pray and trust in Jesus that His will may enter into her heart and that she may receive His light into the depths of the underlying causes of her addiction and that the Lord will watch over her.  May the Lord bless you.

Didi, I will pray for Kay.  I know first hand how it is to watch a loved one destroy themselves.  I pray that Kay and all others in her difficulty be given the strength, courage and pure grace to overcome their addiction.

Kay is in my prayers. I've had to deal with a few of my own and have known other addicts who -- for some unfortunate reasons of their own -- or the people they couldn't pull themselves away from, either suffered a lot more or in some cases, may not have survived at all.

We must be strong for them and our loved ones as living testimonies of what they would never wish upon us if they'd only known during the beginning of any addiction. When addicts tell you "I never thought it'd happen to me at first ... " believe them, love them, support them and pray for them.

In loving Brotherhood,

Steven
