Greetings from Biloxi,

I've been remiss in seeking the prayers of the faithful of this forum. This evening my brothers and sisters in the Monday Night Chat offered prayers for my multiple ailments. I am humbled by their offer and sincerely seek those of the rest of the Saints on this forum. The problems are too numerous to mention, but they are not life threatening. I spend many hours in my recliner in front of the crucifix of our Lord so I always feel I have no room to complain.

This evening my brother and sister-in-law gave me some disturbing news about my nice that requires your prayers much, much more than I do. She is suffering from gall stones, she had two attacks with visits to the emergency room for pain killer treatment, but her doctors will not operate since she is in the first trimester of a new pregnancy. Her parents are telling her she will probably have to endure the pain throughout the pregnancy.

I fear someone will convince her to have an abortion so she can have the gall bladder surgery to relieve her pain. Neither my brother or sister-in-law mentioned this to me this evening, but this is the fear that struck my heart when I heard the news.

Please pray for my niece, Jackie, because this is going to be a rough ride for everyone.

In Christ We Are One

Love,

Norm

Greetings from Kennerdell!

Hello Norm.  I shall certainly keep Jackie, you, and all your family in my prayers tonight.  May our Merciful Father bless you and your family with healing, May Jesus, Gentle and loving, comfort and embrace each of you in your troubles and ailments, and may Our Lady nourish you and all you love with her tender love and care.

May God Bless you

Lisa

I don't know if if would be an option at this point, however, the University of Virginia and some other medical centers have a treatment which can break up gall stones via sound waves much like they can be used to break up kidney stones. There is a drug called, as I recall, ursodial, or some such, which can help dissolve gall stones but I think that it takes and extended period of time. Don't know how well it would do with pregnancy.  Anyway, I do pray that God will give her relief!

I knew it...just forgot it...be careful what you ask for...even prayers of the saints... :)

This morning at 4:30 a.m. I awoke from a deep sleep. Usually I just turn over and go back to sleep, but this morning I was wide awake. Please realize that I go to bed at 12:00 a.m. and usually get up at 7:30 a.m. or so.

First thought...pray the divine mercy chaplet for Jackie...second thought...see if my brother is on line playing computer games so I can chat with him about Jackie...Nope...he was not on line...third thought get dressed in time to attend 6:20 a.m. mass...fourth thought obtain a miraculous medal before Mass for Jackie...she is a non-praticing catholic...

I fought these urges since I am not a morning person. I tried to rationalize my desires by attempting to return to my comfortable chair for another round of prayer and devotion. The Holy Spirit would not leave me alone. GET READY FOR MASS! I was out of the house by 6:10 a.m. Father Paddy was a bit surprised to see me so early. Mass was wonderful, of course, so I took the last two miraculous medals from the box before mass started.

7:00 a.m. I call my brother to see if the coffee is ready. I told him I'll be by in 10 minutes. I spent the next 2 hours listening and talking to the two of them about all of their problems. My sister-in-law is suffering from terminal cancer. The doctors gave her 3 months 8 years ago, but she is making a fool out of them all. That is another story.

My sister-in-law confirmed my deepest fears when she told me Jackie would consider an abortion if the gall pains continued without relief and her doctors would continue to postpone the surgery due to her pregnancy.

I called Jackie this evening on her cell phone after she finished work. I was not sure of what to say, but she opened up on me with a 20 minute conversation. I reassured her of my prayers and concerns along with the plan to deliver the miraculous medal to her as soon as possible. She is off on Friday and Sunday. I asked her to keep me posted with her illness while not hesitating to call me for help.

I really enjoyed talking with her this evening. I have not listened or spoken to her this much since her mom married my brother many years ago. Again, another long story.

Thank you very much for your powerful prayers. Not sure if they will get me up, again, for 6:20 a.m. mass, but if they do then I will not fight the temptation to roll over and return to sleep!

To be continued....

Love

Norm

I will pray for Jackie and her baby.  I'm sure when Jackie is in that much pain, it puts stress on the baby too.  Surely there is a method of pain relief they could use, but there is also a danger of a bile duct blockage if surgery is postponed too long.  Keep us posted Norm.  God bless you and your family.
