Hello,

My name is Terry and I am an AG Minister (Charismatic). Me and a friend are going to attend a Latin Mass this Sunday afternoon. We are investigating the Catholic Church, not to convert, but to learn more of the history, traditions, etc... for our spiritual enrichment. Please pray that God will speak to us through this Mass. We have a background in foreign languages (me fluent in Spanish, NT Greek, etc...) We are excited as this day will approach.

May God Be with all of you...

Terry Foss

Which Latin Mass are you going to?  Is it the "Traditional Latin Mass" (the Extraordinary Form, from the 1962 missal) or the "current" Mass in Latin (the Ordinary Form, from the 1970 missal)?

Just curious.

Hi Terry, welcome to the forum!  It is always good to hear new voices.  I pray you will open your heart and mind to the mass, and will see how much catholics reverence and worship the Lord.  It would be helpful to you to read a little of the forum here or get a book someplace to explain what goes on in the mass.  I watched it on TV and read about it for maybe a year before I ever attended one, and then it was (and is) in English!  Whatever, I pray it will be a meaningful experience for you both.  God bless

Hey Friends,

This is Terry. I attended the Latin Mass on Saturday. It was totally awesome! Thank God I have an extensive background in languages. The presence of God was in the place.

Tomorrow (Friday 2nd May), I am meeting with the priest for lunch. Oh, the Latin Mass was the 1962 version.

On another note, please pray for me. I was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday evening. If anyone of you have had a gun put in your gut, you know how helpless you feel. Yes, God and His angels were with me, but it was a very uncomfortable experience.

God Bless all of you, my dear friends in Christ.

Terry Foss

 Oh my Lord!! I'm glad you weren't hurt Terry. Thanks God for his protection. I've always wondered what would I do in the same kind of situation. I'd probably do the same as you.
May God continue to bless you as you meet with your priest friend.

Rich

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks be to God you were not harmed.

If you have a chance read Scott Hahn's book on the Mass and his experience in regards to Revelations the first time he attended one.

Ahh, and don't leave out the Eastern Catholic Churhes.  If there are any in your area, visit them too.  See the fullness of the Catholic Church.

For all of  your needs and intentions
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Thanks Rich, and May God Bless you. The meeting with the priest was great. We discussed theology, doctrine, and many other things that relate to the Body of Christ.

It is too bad that much of the body is divided. I don't believe that God wanted it to be that way.

Terry,

I am so happy to hear that you and your friend had a positive experince at ya'lls first Mass, and that you are taking the effort to meet with a priest and discuss Catholic theology. That's awesome, and God bless you.

Have you read any of the Early Church Father's writings? They also can give you insight into Catholic teachings, and how they have been preserved by the Holy Spirit, within the Church from antiquity until present date. Scott Hahn's book "The Supper of the Lamb", explains the mass that is revealed in book of Revelation.

Wow, robbed at gun point....I can't even image what that must be like, but I do think it would be a life changing experince. Said a prayer for you and the offender, may God turn your misfortune, into something positive and use this experince to intervene in the robbers life, and that he realize that God has a better way for him in this life, so he will be able to enjoy God's presence in the next.

Peace be with you...Pam

Hey All,

Just wanted to let you know that my wife and I just got back from a minister's retreat. Were were encouraged, uplifted and strengthened. Our God is soooooo good!!!

I also want to say a big thanks to all who have responded to my emails. Your thoughts and prayers have been a blessing. We may never meet face to face in this life, but in the halls of eternity, we will meet, fellowship and praise our great and mighty God.

I just read Scott Hahn's book, "Rome Sweet Home." Wow! What a powerful testimony. When I get some extra money, I plan on purchasing more of his writings and dig further.

God Bless all of you and may He keep you in His grace...

Hi Rev. Terry,

Thanks for sharing with us, and I'm sure glad you weren't hurt by the robber. God obviously has more work for you to do on this earth!
