Please pray for two women may be on their way home to the Catholic Church.  Both have suffered much in their lives and continue to suffer physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Marilyn is in her 60s and "used to be Catholic."  She has some obstacles to overcome, but her time on earth may be limited.

Tracy is in her 40s and has always felt drawn to the Catholic Church.

Please also pray for me as I strive to answer their questions and offer support.

Thank you and God bless!

Hello again, Didi. I'm glad you started this new thread.
I will pray for your two friends.

I see on the left that you almost left the Church but have now found a deeper faith. If you are comfortable sharing part of that experience with us, we would certainly be interested in hearing about it.

In any case, I'm glad you are with us now.

God bless,
Becky

Thought I would give you a quick update!

I have had numerous conversations with both ladies and they both seem pretty open to hearing the teachings of the Church.

I met with Tracy about a week ago and took her several books, CDs, DVDs, etc.  She was so excited.  Her health is not good, so I know it will take awhile for her to get through some things but she is eager to learn!

Just today I mailed a packet of info to Marilyn (she lives about 50 miles away from me), including Dave Armstrong's info on purgatory (thanks Dave!).  She's in her 60's and they don't really use their computer much.  I imagine the info I sent her will spark a lot of questions, so please pray that I can get out of the way and let the Holy Spirit do the talking!:praying:

Thanks and God bless!

:) Didi,

Tell both Marilyn and Tracey they have my prayers from a few thousand miles away! (In Catholicism all prayers are "local calls.") Pass this along to Marilyn: when I returned, all I had to do was make a Confession, recite the Nicene Creed and promise the good Father I wouldn't "do it again." In addition I only had a few prayers to recite as well.

You can't imagine the relief. You just can't. Sure, I get the :eyeroll: "treatment" from my Protestant friends and co-workers at my family's church, but they've also seen a change in me as well. I'm less restive, edgy, ready to duke it out in religious classes and coffee bull sessions.

Keep tight to your friends. I can imagine a lot of pressure being put to them to "stay put." (Funny how many of the strictest hard-core Protestants who founded this nation in the name of "religious liberty" are often the worst violators of all their sanctimonious and (damn near jingoistic) pap and bull when it comes to freedom.

And I hope to heck neither will be in a real tight emotional spot with their spouses. That'll call for many, many hours of prayer.

Bring them in Didi! They sure deserve a loving HOME.:waving:

Thank you Steven and all who are praying for these women!

I am seeing now how God has prepared me to help them both in their journeys; we have much in common that wouldn't have been there 10 years ago.  About three years ago I was a sponsor for a friend who joined the Church and he had a lot of questions.  That experience also is helping me to be able to explain things to these ladies.

One of the interesting things is, that I have been reading "The Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To" by Anthony DeStafano (good Catholic author!), and one of those prayers is:  "God, use me as Your instrument!"  Guess He is answering that one!  Again, please pray for wisdom for me to let God work through me instead of thinking I have to do it myself (something I struggle with, which I know nobody else does - HA!)  :headbang:
