Someone had commented on a prayer I posted.  I am not certain where, but it is called 'Mary Untier of Knots'.   It is an interesting prayer, very simple, and powerful.  Also, here is a bit of testimony that happened in regards to it after a few days of my saying it and why I started.

May Our Lady, Untier of Knots, come to your assistance.

Holy Mary, full of the presence of God during your life you accepted with great humility the Holy Will of the Father and the legacy of your Son Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Evil never dared to entangle you with its confusion. Since then you have interceded for all of our difficulties. With all simplicity and patience you have given us example on how to untangle the knots in our complicated lives. By being our Mother forever, you arrange and make clear the path that unites us to Our Lord. Holy Mary, Mother of God and ours, with your maternal heart untie the knots that upset our lives. We ask you to receive in your hands ( mention who or prayer request) and deliver us from the chains and confusions that have us restrained. Blessed Virgin Mary, through your grace, your intercession and by your example, deliver us from evil and untie the knots that keep us from uniting with God, so that once free of every confusion and error, we may find Him in all things, have Him in our hearts and serve him always in our brothers and sisters. Mother of Good Counsel pray for us . Amen

Friday night, Fr. Deacon Stan was having a really hard time, and the little time that I slept, I kept hearing 'Mary untie the knots'. So the next morning, I searched and found this prayer. So I used it all day Sat. and Sun. ( he has been stubborn about going to doctors) Well he woke up Monday morning and said, 'what doctor do I need to go see, what hospital do I need to go to?'

The doctors told me to take him to the ER. He is in the hospital now. But, it was our Lady that got him there.

Also, at the same time, I had given it to our daughter's boyfriend. He started using it about situtions at work, that were very difficult, as he is the manager. In two days time, he says that things are totally different. He said there is no other reason except for this prayer, as he had been praying about it all, but when this prayer was added, things were better the next day and they have continued to improve.

The devotion goes back to an ancient story out of Germany about a couple that was having many marital problems. It was a tradition in Germany that at Catholic weddings, the couple would “tie the knot” in a ribbon to symbolize their union before Christ.  An elderly Jesuit priest urged the warring couple to ask for Mary’s intercession in “untying the knots” that had blemished their wedding ribbon.  According to "Maria Knotenselorin The True Story,” the couple prayed to Mary.  Their knotted and wrinkled ribbon became white and smooth.

Thus began a devotion to Mary as Untier of Knots, the knots of everyday problems and oppressions that each person experiences.

After the couple passed away many years later, their son became the parish priest in the Church of St. Peter am Perlach in Germany.  As an act of thanksgiving, he donated a beautiful image of Our Lady untying knots to the church. Many years later this devotion spread to Buenos Aires Argentina in an even greater manner, and now to the United States
