Hi, everybody. I have a prayer request. I don't think I've mentioned this one to you all yet, but I'll try to keep it short (yeah, right - huh? ;)).

Anyway, a couple months ago my mom had a real bad ear infection and she ended up going to the ER. The doctors told her it was a good thing she went in when she did or she could have lost her ear - the infection was that bad. They gave her antibiotics and stuff... But - they couldn't find out what was wrong with it.

Well, so lo and behold, they've had her going everywhere for tests of all kinds. Somewhere along the way some doctor's office gave her the wrong test and through it they found a mass on her kidney. Even the doctors thought it was odd and one or two of them even suggested that it was a little miracle from God because if she had not been given that test we would never have known until too late that she had cancer. As it turns out, they are going to have to take her kidney, but at least they caught it before it spread.

Mom's in good spirits. She's just thankful that they caught it when they did. She barely seems worried at all. She says she's been in and out of the doctors' so often that it just doesn't really phase her. I mean, she had seven kids, Colitis, numerous little irritations throughout her life... anyway, she's really not taking it at all badly and she looks at the bright side of it and thinks it a miracle. (Mom's a living saint - everyone who knows her thinks so - wish I was more like her...).

Anyway, at first they told her that the only surgery date that was open was Christmas Eve! What a let-down for our family. But Mom was willing to do that if she had to rather than wait til later, naturally, if it meant she'd be around for the next few Christmases. Well, we just found out they were able to move it up to the 17th - thank God (yet, at the same time, it's a little frightening. After all, it's major surgery, you know?)

So. Please pray for Mom. I don't really feel worried, but yet there's always a chance of complications. So just please keep her in your prayers. I know you all are a good bunch and can be trusted to pray for her.  (Oh, btw, the ear seems to be fine now. Go figure).

Thanks, everybody! God bless you all +

JMJ

Maybe her guardian angel was whispering to her about her kidney and she wasn't listening, so her GA got forceful!  It is certainly major surgery and of course there is a risk, but such surgery has a very high chance of success.  She will be in our prayers.

Actually, it makes sence.  In alternative medicines, they look to ringing in the ear to be something bothering the liver.  Was her left knee bothering her too before?

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

O Lord our God, Who by a word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every sickness and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to Your servant Cheri's mom and cure her of every sickness of which she is grieved; and send down upon her Your great mercy, and if it be Your will, give to her health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Both now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Rick,

Thanks for the prayers and... You may be right about the Guardian Angel. :) Who knows? Sometimes you gotta capture someone's attention where it'll be caught.

And...

Rose,

Thanks for your prayers also, and, btw, regarding the following quote:

"

Yes!! It hurts her still. How did you know? What does it signify? Are you suggesting that once the cancer's taken care of her knee might feel better? Just wondering...

Cheri, my prayers are with your Mom.  I'm glad they were able to move the surgery date up, so hopefully she'll be home and resting comfortably on Christmas Eve.  God bless

I pray your mom is doing better.
Lord of the Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other help but You.
Lord of the Powers, have mercy on us.

So many prayer requests today. Blessed Mother Mary, receive all our prayers and bring them to your son.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, Blessed art you among women and
blessed is the fruit of you womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen
