Click here to see Skylar Testa’s powerful conversion story on EWTN’s “The Journey Home” – 2 Macabees 6:12-17 God’s decision. Now I urge those who read this book not to be depressed by such calamities, but to recognize that these punishments were designed not to destroy but to discipline our people. In fact, […]

Fr. Patrick is a revert to the Church. Oldest of 5 he was raised Catholic in Northwest Ohio. Although he briefly considered the priesthood in 8th grade, he fell away from the Church after joining the military after high school. While stationed in Italy, in 1978 (the same year Pope John Paul II was elected), he left the Church. Books by Hal Lindsey made a great impression on him. He later went to Moody Bible Institute and was ordained in an independent fundamentalist church. A few years later he was close to “burn-out” and searching again for answers. Fr. Rohen continued his education, graduating from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and then eventually went on to St. Meinrad Seminary where he earned both a Master of Arts and a Master of Divinity degree.
Last year at the CHNetwork’s Deep in History conference in Columbus, Ohio, we recorded a special panel discussion on the topic of Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) comprised of the conference speakers who were converts to the Catholic Church. The discussion was hosted by Marcus Grodi, president of the CHNetwork and host of EWTN’s The Journey Home program, and was later featured as a special edition of The Journey Home (Click here to visit EWTN’s youtube channel).
Fr. Rohen is a retired US Army Captain, having served as a military chaplain. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, in Chicago.
Here is a great old episode of the Deep In Scripture program:
“Two Converts Critique a Clergyman” – Marcus Grodi and Jim Anderson continue their study of Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians by discussing verses 1: 18-23, which deal with the Easter message. Jim and Marcus critique a sermon that Marcus wrote and gave when he was a Presbyterian pastor!
John 3:1-6 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicode’mus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.” […]
